Both teams fielded combined U12/U11’s in a one sided match dominated by Penrith who ran in ten tries against a physically matched Furness team. Penrith showed glimpses of quick ball across the backs and aggressive but disciplined forward play which opened up the Furness defence throughout the game. Joe Connelly ran in a further 4 tries, typically showing his ability to run at and through defences. David King scored 2 tries, 1 try where he ran the length of the pitch. Debutant Daniel Nouch scored his first try for Penrith and this was followed by 3 further tries by the Penrith forwards, Max Lancaster, Michael Dunne and Thomas Maund who captained the side. Alex Verrall and Nathan Fidler each got 3 conversions with Jamie Fawcett, a promising scrum-half showing that he can also kick the ball as well as he passes it with the final conversion. Jake Fabi showed great determination during the game and was unlucky not to add to the try tally.
