The Club recently benefitted from a grant from Persimmon Homes Community Champions fund and the other Saturday we were pleased to entertain their Regional Managing Director, Anthony Mansfield and a number of his colleagues at our pre-match lunch.
At the same time they were accompanied by Dr Virginia Taylor, previous leader of Eden District Council and now a Cabinet Member of Westmoreland and Furness Council .
Our photo shows First team Captain Adam Howe being presented with one of the new match balls that we have purchased using the Persimmon grant.
Our Past President, Charles Graves who entertained our visitors along with new President David Snaith said:
“Persimmon have become very active in financially supporting and assisting a number of volunteer and non-profit making organisations in the Penrith area. With 20 teams to manage, Penrith Rugby Club are constantly looking for contributions to assist in the day to day running costs, and their £1000 grant has been earmarked to cover the cost of match and training balls for our 2023/24 season. On behalf of the Club and our 500+ players I would like to thank them very much for their donation and continued support”
