Our u14 Girls finished their half- term week with a visit from our friends at Annan. As usual Annan turned out a strong side. Some compromises were agreed regarding a few RFU/SRU law differences and following that a good competitive game was played. Both sides were able to field 15 players and three 20 minutes periods were played to allow for position changes and a little coaching.

Penrith started the slightly better with some strong runs from Paige playing at full-back, resulting in 3 tries. However Annan fought back into the game with some excellent aggressive tackling and rucking, taking some PRUFC ball and making the most of their own to score the next 2 tries of the period.

Starting the second period at 3 (tries)-2, Annan drew level. Penrith managed to score 2 more from Paige and Lara - but the second period ended Penrith trailing 6 - 5

With Annan arguably just about 'in charge' at this point - the Penrith girls had a choice to start the final period strong and take the lead, and win, or scrape by and hang on for a narrow loss. Thankfully they stepped up and made a strong start to the period playing their best 20 mins of rugby in a while - some strong runs and much better support play saw good tries from Paige, Summer, Emilia and Freya. Annan, not done, responded with one of their own.

Goal kicking was to play a bigger part in this scoreline - Annan kicking 4/7 and Penrith kicking 6/9 - (Lissee 3/5 and Emilia 3/4)
