Award Winners – more detail.
Coaches Player – Hannah Carruthers – presented by Sean Robinson
Always difficult choice with a number of girls having major impacts in matches, and being coachable, developed and shown leadership. Hannah stood out as a great person, fun and knowledgeable. She travelled a great distance to training /matches but never missed a session. Her preferred position is Hooker by played almost very position, never complains, selfless, high work rate, physical, Capt of NE & Cumbria PDG helped coach/play for Cumbria Hannah still relatively new to rugby with outstanding talent we expect will go on to achieve great things in rugby.
Players Player – Charlotte Harnwell – presented by Joe Brown
As with all awards a close vote with 12 players receiving votes. Charlotte was a top trainer, part of leadership group, self less as changed positions to help a teammate. Brave, committed tackler, high workrate, queen of the snipe at breakdown to pick up 13 tries at flanker.
Top Try Scorer – Izzy Green and Caitlin Padgett – Presented by Nigel Beaty
The team scored 579 points including the 10s and Charlotte was leading until the last 2 games with 13 but Izzy and Caitlin moved ahead to finish with 18 each. Penny scored 10 , Eimhear 9 with all the regular squad crossing showing it was a real team effort.
Most Improved- Amber Beaty Presented by Sean Robinson and Sophie Maguinness- Horn.
Y13 award to Amber – close again with Ellen Sherwen, Abi Hill, Katie Smith and Evie Holme all showing commitment, passion and eager to learn. Jasmine Cox, Abi Lyons and Amy Wilson also made huge steps forward.
Fly half Amber has fantastic game knowledge and huge part of the team, undoubted talent, brave, tries things in training and games, In past lacked confidence let frustration show with team mates but now supportive and mainly constructive. Confidence grown, matured and important part of leadership group noticeable that many of younger players voted her as player of year.
Y12 Award to prop Sophie Maguinness- Horn
Sophie joined this season with a lot to learb , but she is like a sponge in terms of her front role role working with Joe. Her body position, carrying into contact and confidence now demanding the ball great to see
All the Y12s have improved.
Eimhear had a great season, she’s in the PDG squad, improvements include; leading, kicking, joining the line from full back and intercepts.
Matilda – played several roles in the backs wing and moving to centre as her confidence , tackling, communication and handling skills continued to grow.

These players will be the leaders next season as move upto Y13.

Appropriately Co Captains Penny and Caitlin shared the supporters award. Two outstanding talents.
