Unfortunately the boys could only take to the field with 14 players today, with 10 now injured anywhere from their toes to necks!
Vale graciously agreed to lend us a player to make a game of it. However that was where graciousness ended.
In a physical game with Penrith missing 9/10/12/14 and 15, our backline featured, for a debut appearance at 12 and 13, the fine back row pairing of Mr Larkins and Cavaghan, Zak P moved from second row to prop and so it went on!
It took the first half for the boys to adjust to their new positions, going down 24:5 in the half as a result. The one try coming from Zak P.
However the second half was a different affair with the boys producing some ferocious tackling and mauling, and mediocre rucking, to win the half 17:15. The Penrith tries coming from our new centres with Ollie bagging 2 and Aaron 1.
Final score fair enough with the general feeling that the next match should be interesting!
