But boys made to think for it...

Penrith stormed out of their cars to play a fast and furious 1st half, the back row all over the park, second row punching holes here there and everywhere and the backs banging in 3 good tries, to the forwards 1. Lewis calmly converted 3 of them.

All looking good 26:7 at half time.

Morpeth however, had other ideas for the second half, and wisely adapted their play to counter Penrith's weakness and lack of commitment at the rucks. 3 tries were battered over in short order. Penrith lost a player to injury, leaving Ryan in his first match covering the wing! Irritating chat to the ref resulting in penalties and a talking to. All began to look a bit ominous.

However the boys rallied in the last 15 minutes, shut the door around the rucks, rediscovered the use of space out wide with Zak D streaking in for 2 tries and Aaron throwing an outrageous dummy to collect a third under the posts.

Good win but the rematch will be a close affair.
Try scorers: Aaron and Zak Dunn 2 apiece, Joe, Thomas and Max one each with 3 conversions Lewis and 1 to Aaron (?!)
