This was a tougher game than the score suggests.
Kirkby started well, after 5 mins or so of Penrith pressure, responding with a sustained attack of their own down the left side.
But then Penrith did what they continued to do to all match, absorb the attack, force mistakes and then use quick ball to drive up the middle, release their back row round the fringes and/or speedsters in the backs and bang in some tries.
This strategy produced 3 tries for Harry, Aaron 1, Ollie L 2, Joe 1 and Zak D 1 - 4 all, back row vs backs!
Second half started much like the first, with Kirkby applying sustained pressure for a while, until Penrith repaid the favour but took their chances and points.
Players of note were Luke and Ollie Larkins with repeated barnstorming runs up the centre of the park, often sucking in 2 or 3 defenders, Max and Ollie B for adapting to each other at 9 and 10 and making great use of ball and space and Will at fullback, who once again provided built and manned a try saving "brick wall"!
All in all, a great team effort which resulted in an impressive win over a side where, historically, the result has been much closer.
