Penrith U15 Girls continue to improve in return Netherhall Fixture
A squad of 19 were available for the return match with Lily Salmon making her debut and gradually building her confidence including a powerful run in the final quarter.
The scoreline was in Penriths favour but the 4 x 10 min sessions were competitive throughout.
The first quarter stared well with a fine catch by Evie Holme the play developed and Charlotte Harnwell stepped through to feed Amber Beaty who put Lili T-P in space and she ran well to score in the corner.
Leila Robinson ran strongly for a fine individual try and followed up with some great work in defence.
Netherhall responded well and some strong tackles by Hazel Harrison, Penny Robinson, Katie Smith and Jess Graham kept them out. Charlotte, Amber and Sofia Hellivik ran and handled well to give Katie a chance to show her strength and pace to score.
The 2nd quarter began with Jess and Charlotte combining well to give Aimee Powell Currie to score. Emily Hetherington at full back took the kick well and made good ground but they couldn’t get past the Netherhall defence.
A great team try next fine interpassing with Hazel, Aimee, Sophia, Lily P-T setting Chloe away for a fine score.
Netherhall broke through to score their 1st try and continued to attack with Hazel pulling off a try saving try. Amber defended well and turned over the ball to then run 30m to score.
Still on the back foot Leila, Penny, Evie H and Jess put in fine tackles.
Amber, Evie and Leila linked well for Evie to score.
After a Netherhall score some players swapped over sides – ( well done Evie H, Aimee, Penny and Leila)
Hazel and Chloe put in strong tackles but Netherhall scored again. Emily was taking the ball well at fullback and running strongly.
