The U15s traveled with the Girls U13s and U18s to Tynedale RUFC and just shaded a lung sapping match 51 - 42.

With half term and covid affecting both teams it was agreed to play 11 a side on full pitch. Penrith having the luxury of 6 replacements to rotate.
The try scoring was back and forth but Penrith finished strongly with 3 trys in the last of the 15min quarters played.
Tynedale were first off the mark as one of their speedy backs went round the outside for a fine score. The first scrum collapsed unfortunately with Sofia having to leave the field - the scrums were semi contested after this for safety. Sofia was soon back in the action. Jessica and Maebh hooked well to give clean ball for No8 Penny.
The line outs were uncontested but with support allowed and jumper Lily Bell provided good ball to the backs.
Eimhear at full back was the saviour on several occasions with strong brave tackles and Sofia, Katie, Leila and Lili TP were competing hard at the tackle area . In the 2nd quarter Penrith scored 2 fine tries the first when Amber from fly half passed and supported a strong run by centre Evie Holme before taking the return pass to score under the posts.
Chloe was doing well as she recovers from covid - not quite herself but after a fine run by Matilda she continued the move and a pop pass to scrum half Charlotte saw her score.
Tynedale scored from an interception and from a turnover after another crunching tackle by Eimhear saw her injured and a walk in try.
In the 3rd quarter Penrith played well scoring 3 tries one involving many players with excellent continuity
Amber and Evie Holme again attached the defensive line and a fine line from Evie saw her through to score from 30m. Leila scored next supporting well out wide after good link play from Lily Bell and showing her pace to run in from 40m. Penny was carrying strongly and working hard to keep the team going forward. Another break from a scrum with the ball moved wide to Gracie who made ground before the ball was passed back inside for Evie to burst clear and score.
In the final quarter after a Tynedale try the game was even more open as the girls led by Katie amended their tactics to pass before contact as much as they could. Matilda put in some crucial tackles and Rebecca showed her outstanding stamina as she was one minute making 50m breaks then chasing back to make try saving tackles. Gracie was also making some fine tap tackles to deny Tynedale clean breaks. Consistent pressure with carrries by Jessica, Maebh and Evie Lightburn led to Evie Holme scoring her 3rd try forcing herself over by the posts. Charlotte then broke clear and looked like there was cover but she stepped this way and that before the defence opened up for a lovely try under the posts.
The final try went to Amber after Rebecca and Chloe combined down the left on a 50m break, Lili T-P who had an outstanding game at the breakdown and supporting runners continued the attack before popping to Amber arriving at pace to score.
Conversions are not easy for the girls so the 2 from Penny and one from Sofia were greeted with huge cheers!
