14 10 up - time up - defending our line superbly but earlier yellow card meant down to 14 and Stafford spun the ball wide with excellent passing to score in the corner to win 15 - 14. Superb hosts. Big crowd. Excellent referee team all female. Lots of what ifs!

This was the 2nd season running the Girls had reached the Regional Cup Final - this time drawn away at Stafford a 3 hour trip!
Stafford started well and their centre made a good read to intercept a pass to score and 5-0 lead.
Penrith came back well and dominated possession with No8 Penny Robinson making good carries.
Eventually the possession told as an excellent cross kick by fly half Amber Beaty was well taken on the bounce by back row Lili Thompson- Parry who scored under the posts for Penny to convert and a 7-5 lead.
Just before half time Staffords powerful winger burst several tackles to score to make it 10-7 to Stafford at half time.

Penrith started the 2nd half well, prop Chloe Brown runs gaining territory and probably what turned out to be crucial they couldn't score despite being 5m from the Stafford line for 6/7 minutes , great defence from the home team who also conceded many penalties but were to hold out, capitalise on a handling error and kick to clear.
Penrith then scored from their own half with a perfect blindside attack from a scrum with Penny, scrum half Charlotte Harnwell timing their passes perfectly to give Caitlin Padgett a metre of space , she hit the pass at pace then flew in from 70m, converted by Penny and at 14-10 was the cup theirs?
Stafford came back an although the girls thought the game was theirs after holding up a Stafford player for a goal line drop out the game continued and Stafford eventually won the game with a high quality piece of play which with the crowd of 300-400 making alot of noise an only be commended.

With the 2 year groups making up the squad most will move into U18s category next season so it will be 2 seasons before hopefully this outstanding squad will get another chance to play in the National Cup.
