A perfect start as 2nd row Lucy Booth collected the kick off and made ground, followed by prop Cara Hind the ball was moved left with hooker Katie Smith decoy run holding the defence then well timed passes to players moving at pace from scrum half Charlotte Harnwell, fly half Amber Beaty and centre Penny Robinson put centre Caitlin Padgett through a gap and she outpaced the cover to score a converted by Penny who went on to convert an excellent 6 times.
The game was the even – both teams defending well with the home team just edging the scrums but Chloe Brown in her first start at No8 and Charlotte tidied up well. Chloe making good ground from her carries.
Cara had another strong run making 30m but the ball was stripped in the tackle and Tyne/Novos broke clear but full back Eimhear McGrath was on hand to tackle well as usual.
Tyne /Novos kept possession well and continued to make ground with some strong carries before scoring, well converted for a 7-7 score.

The girls had been slow to support the ball carrier losing possession but with Lily Salmon on to set the example this improved and they then dominated as from the restart back row Lili Thompson-Parry gathered and they had territory, Penny now in the forwards stole a line out to keep up the pressure, from a scrum against the head by Katie Penrith moved the ball left with wingers Sofia Helevik and Skye Smith and Eimhear combining before a lovely pass back inside for Caitlin to score.
Ella Barnett on at 2nd row and prop Neve Winder made ground and wing Becca Newby forced a line out, the forwards executed a catch and drive and back row Evie Holme broke blind to score her first try of the season!

With plenty of possession Amber used it to vary her game, good cross kicks kept up the pressure then she was able to dummy and break before giving Caitlin an easy run in for the 4th try.
From the kick off they continued to keep possession and hard working Matilda McTear carried well, flanker Lily Salmon bursting clear, with Caitlin in support well tackled, good continuity with the ball going through many hands before Penny broke through several tackles but was just short before Katie use her law knowledge to pick up and dot down on the line.
Lili took the restart well making 30m, the ball moved well again and after continued pressure Chloe stayed strong through the contact to score.
The home team came back and their was a big defensive Penrith set with Eimhear and Sofia making crucial tackles to halt attacks.
They had a line out and moved the ball across the field but Caitlin had read the play and intercepted for a run in from half way.

The 2nd half – was even due to a balance of some new positions tried out including Matilda at No8 and with Tyne/Novos continually working hard and improving.
Their was plenty of defending to do as home team retained the ball well and pressurised the scrum with props Cara and Neve working hard to keep the scrum steady, their were more excellent tackles by Eimhear, Sofia, Becca, Skye, Evie , Matilda and Neve but eventually Tyne/Novos scored a well deserved try.
Penrith came back entertaining the crowd moving the ball well before contact, then Neve made good ground forcing a penalty, Katie took the quick tap and sped over.
Tyne/Novos were putting together good passages of play but the whole Penrith team were making their tackles, from a turnover good handling moved the ball wide for a break out from Caitlin as the cover came across she grubber kicked ahead and tackled the full back hard to gain possession in their half. The ball was moved well to the left keeping out of contact with Jess putting Lili TP now on the wing in space she broke through before a well timed inside pass to Skye, recycled and moved right through several pairs of hands for Caitlin to hit Becca at pace but she was held up. From the drop out the ball was again moved across the pitch left then right before Caitlin once again in the right time right place had a gap to score from 5metres for her 5th try and the teams 9th for a final score of 57-12.
