Penrith U13 Girls played some excellent rugby in their 2nd match of the season with a visit to Keswick.

Penrith U13 Girls played some excellent rugby in their 2nd match of the season with a visit to Keswick for 2 x 15 min matches.

The first period saw the girls dominate, with powerful quick runners and good offloading in the tackle. With adjustment to playing numbers the 2nd period was more even and Keswick scoring some fine tries before the girls aim of passing the ball to space to use their speedy runners paid off with more tries.

All the girls continue to improve and enjoyed their first muddy pitch and the after match meal!

Evie Wallace and Lil Thompson- Parry finished well on the wings benefitting from accurate passing by Charlotte Harnwell and Amber Beaty. Scarlett Turnbulls increased confidence and workrate were rewarded with her first try. Chloe Brown and Jess Graham ran strongly attracting defenders to create space. Leila Robinson and Katie Smith led the defensive effort with powerful tackles.

The movement of the ball and support continues to improve with the girls scoring some excellent team tries, more to work on in terms of attacking and defensive alignment and individual tackling at training.

Training continues on Fri nights 4.30pm - 6pm at the club, any girls Y7 or 8 welcome. Contact Nigel on 07793121104.
Next match at Netherall on Sun 27th October.
