This was the first game for many of the U13s with 9 players available to travel. They all played their best game, improved and kept smiling! Keswick have a strong girls section with a large skillful squad so 2 of their girls played for us to give more girls a game. Their greater experience and pace showed as they regularly ran in tries sometimes after Penrith more direct game had seen them keep possession for many passes before losing the ball and Keswicks' quick runners used the space for some fine individual tries. A Keswick guest got the girls on the scoreboard before more Keswick tries then Bianca ran strongly for a try. Katie Holloway powerful surges always made ground and she was unlucky to have a try chalked off after a 15 m run and score. Bianca scored again after Emilia had moved the ball well and she took the ball at pace. Emilia scored a well deserved try after working tirelessly in attack and making some tremendous cover tackles. For some like Millie and Lydia going forward and making a tackle was an achievement, Chloe continues to gain confidence making several good tackles, Faye was everywhere showing no fear in her first game of rugby, and Emily was always on hand to carry the ball. Summer led the team well and made some excellent cover tackles.
