On Sunday the Panthers managed to get their second league win of the season, after an impressive performance against the Darlington Ladies.

The Panthers started quick and scored the opening try after 5 minutes. Caitlin Wood received the ball deep in her half and kicked it downfield. Using her pace, she was able to get to the ball first gather it and headed for the line, scoring under the posts. Wood adding the conversion. The rest of the half was scoreless. Both teams were competing hard, Darlington using their size in the forwards to batter the Panthers defence and the Panthers trying to use their pace to get round the outside, neither team however were budging, and the Panthers went into half time 7-0 up.
The second half was like the first, both sides battling hard and not giving in. After 10 minutes the Panthers broke through, Lexi Hodgson got the ball and using her pace she headed wide, after drawing the last defender she put Sarah Kidd away down the wing who out paced the rest of the defence to go over and score. Wood adding the conversion. The game continued to be a battle and eventually with not long left to go Darlington managed to bully their way over in the corner. The game finished 14-5 to the Panthers, it was one of the most physical games the Panthers had played but their defensive efforts were outstanding, they soaked up a lot of pressure and never gain in. When they had the ball, they looked to use it and put some nice phases of rugby together.
Forward of the match was split between the two props, Di Hetherington and Sarah Jenkins. Both players were constant threats in attack and defence they put in some massive tackles.
Back of the match was Linzi Jenkins, her defensive display at 9 was faultless.
