On Sunday the U15 took to the grass pitch at Winters Park to play Trafford MV winning 40-0 . Unfortunately with illness and injury the team were a few players down but that didn’t stop the lads from going out there giving it 100% .
The ball was passed out wide for Jack McCall and third time lucky he out ran the opposition and scored 5-0 . Olly Newton took the job for kicker and made it look easy taking the score 7-0.
It was the forwards chance to shine next as Henry Strong got the next Try near the corner flag .
The Speed and Skill of Ewan Gill powering through the Trafford defence created his first try of the game with Olly Newton getting the conversion .
As we watched on both teams worked hard across the pitch fighting for possession. Trafford had the ball on their 5 meter line trying to fight the Penrith lads back when Eagle eye Olly Newton saw the opportunity to intercept the ball mid flow and score just under the sticks to make it easy for him to convert the extras.
Following more hard work from the forwards , the backs created enough space to get the ball to Ewan Gill on the half way line for him to out run the Trafford defence and score his second try of the game . Converted by Olly again. The last try was was scored by Dylan Parsons and It was Olly’s final conversion of the game . The Penrith team worked hard all game and made sure the other team didn’t get a score on the board making the final score 40-0 . Jack Gibson who plays number 8 got the man of the match from the Trafford team for his hard work and fast tackles . But all the lads should be proud, they put the hard work in as a team. Well done lads.
Thanks to the Gibson's for the match report.
