u13s outmuscled

The under 13s had a bruising encounter with a Vale team blessed with a couple of big players. Vale took an early lead after 3 mins but missed the conversion, a theme that continued throughout the game. Penrith nearly came back within the next 10 mins, however after 20 mins we were 4 tries down, with only 1 conversion.
The team rallied and a great run by Joe saw the boys pull one back on 25 mins. At 1/2 time we were trailing 22 - 5.
Vale came out strong for the 2nd half, scoring another 2 tries within the first 10 minutes. The next 15 mins saw Vale get another 2 tries. All seemed to be scored by their No8, a big strong lad. The boys rallied well and managed to pull one back with 5 minutes to go, great work by Louie.
Final score 8 tries and 2 conversions to Vale, 2 tries and no conversions to Penrith.
A hard battle fought.
