U/13’s v Vale of Lune
The last home game of the season went out with the wrong kind of bang! A very disappointing result against a very strong Vale team. The game was lost in the first half but the lads dug in, and managed to stem the flow better in the second half. It was 0 – 25 in the first and 5 – 17 in the second. Vale are our bogey side but games like this can only help develop the team’s strength of character. Vale were strong all round but we equalled them in the pack, there backs were a different kettle of fish. They had size, strength and good pace, especially on the wings. There only weakness was not having a decent kicker… They were well drilled and made most of their tackles count. The defensive line was up quickly causing what little ball we had to break down.
Tactically we made a lot of poor decisions. Bryn Jeremiah (No 1) managed to take the ball over the line 18 minutes into the second half to at least get some points on the board.
Once again a big thanks to the referee, parents, supporters and players who come together to make it all happen. It’s nice to get the win but always humble in defeat.
