Wigton Walloped!

Well the score line says it all. And Penrith claim 2 out of 2.

Wigton put 11 on the pitch, we lent them 2 and than banged in 10 tries in the first half. Change of Penrith coaching tactics in the second half, Wigton put 11 on the pitch, we lent them 5 and then banged in 5 tries to one. Sort of worked!

There were a brace of tries each from 5 of the backs - usual suspects but Aaron kept the forwards heads high as did Ollie Larkins, scoring one for Penrith and the only one for Wigton! It was good to see plenty of support work and assists going on in attack, with Jacob and Will leading the way way. In defence Harry, Lewis and Aaron all produced solid stuff and both Zak and Luke got their backs straight and heads up in some rucks - which we then won..

Towards the end cold hands came into play, along with some rain showers, and ball handling skills suffered, one such episode right at the end giving Mr. Larkins the opportunity to put one on the board for Wigton.

Special thanks to all those forwards who played for Wigton, pretty much without complaint - good sportsmanship plus some recognised a good opportunity to thump a mate.
