Upper Eden Workout

Two cracking games of rugby for the boys in the fine mud and rain of the Eden Valley!

The first was tough, brutal in parts, and a real coming of age for the team. Up against Millom U14's, grappling with an 8 man scrum for the first time, the boys displayed some of the best tackling, rucking and scrummaging seen this season, holding Millom to 2 tries a piece at half time (15 min halves).

In the second half they paid for loosing a scrum against the head with a try, and some missed tackles near the end, as fatigue took hold, ended in a loss of 4:2.

However, in a game where they were punched, sworn at, taken out off the ball and repeatedly tackled high they did themselves very proud.

The second game was a fine contest for all the right reasons. Upper Eden had some fine players but not enough fire power to contain repeated assaults from the Penrith pack and we ended up with a deserving win 4:1.
