With several new players to the new U13 squad, their first game of the season whilst not successful on paper, 7 - 35, proved to be a good chance for all the players new and old, to try and show what they could do, even though a couple had to play for the opposition who were short of numbers. With some of the existing team members being moved out of their usual positions throughout the game, the team showed some inspiring moves. As some of the lads had only met for the first time that day, playing for their respective schools in Penrith, it was not surprising that there was a lack of communication between the side. The team could develop into a cracking side if everyone continues to turn up and train together on a regular basis.
Training continues on Thursdays 6 - 7.30. Any new players would still be most welcome.
Next home game Sunday 3rd October V Tynedale, which will prove to be another hard game, but if the lads perform with the same spirit as they did against Carlisle they can only come out with their heads held high and progress as the season moves on.
