13. Lee Chapman

Our new series that began last week continues this Friday with Chappy. Chappy has played for Penrith RUFC for many years and is a friendly face at the club, loved by all! With Scott Lancaster calling him out for his dress sense last week, we thought it only right to give him his say!

Let’s find out what he thinks about his teammates…

1. Who has got the worst dress sense? - “Probably Edward Swale, it’s not particularly bad... just boring but I guess the selection isn’t as big when you have to shop in the kids’ section.”

2. Who is the funniest player? - “Big Will Morgan definitely, his one liners and impressions are fantastic, not to mention his rendition of mysterious girl by Peter Andre.”

3. Who is Mr. Vain? - “Andy Muir even though he’s a bit more chunky than when I first played with him, his selection of hair products and aftershave is second to none.”

4. Who is the most skilled player? -
“I think young Fraser Nicolson, he’s only started playing senior rugby this year but seems a real talent.”

5. Who is hard as nails? - “I’m gonna go with little Adrigh Cole for this one, he’s about 2 stone and 3ft and absolutely fearless... he’s an absolute lunatic to be honest.”

6. Who is kit man’s nightmare? - “Any of the boys from out west, they must have draws full of gear thats gone 'missing' ?.”

7. Who has the best dance moves? - “I would say Jon Fell, his dance move in the Isle of Man are now a thing of legend.”

8. Who is best DJ? - “Jamie McNaughton he’s got a great selection of tunes and is always ready with the post match bangers.”

9. Who is Mr. Grumpy? -
“Deffo George Graham, probably to do with being Scottish... it’s a real chip on his shoulder.”

10. If you could be another teammate for a week, who would it be and why? - “I would probably say Daniel Richardson... he’s just got a real chilled out optimistic outlook on life plus being a fire man looks a real easy job ?.”

And a few about Chappy himself…

11. What would you buy if you had a million pounds? - “A massive fancy bus for the club for away games would be cool with all the bells whistles. I’m talking big screen TVs everywhere, dance floor, beer fridges and a pole for Adam Howe would be great investment.”

12. If you had to play another position what would it be and why? - “Fly half, I just really think it would suit my rugby intelligence and skill set.”

13. What did you used to get in trouble for at school? - “Not turning up, I used to be a nightmare to get out of bed.”

14. What do you eat for breakfast on a game day? - “Banana, protein yoghurt and avocado on rye toast (2 Cumberland swirls and some korma and wedges).”

15. What is the best piece of advice your parent has given you? - “I think just to be yourself and try to be kind to people around you. It’s nice to be nice.”

Big thank you to Lee Chapman for taking part in the lockdown locker room chats this week. Do you agree with everyone he’s mentioned? Who do you want to hear from next week?
