15. Neil McNaughton (Fundraising Chairman)

MEET A MEMBER MONDAY

Every Monday we post a club member profile, they may be a player, coach, team manager or committee member, to make it easier to put names to faces when you're at the club!

Name: Neil McNaughton

Positions: Fundraising Committee Chairman

How many years at Penrith RUFC: Supporter since 2013.

What does he love most about Penrith RUFC: “After many years involved in local football, I started to follow Penrith RUFC as my son Jamie developed through the junior section to play first team. The club is so welcoming, friendly and offers great opportunities to all ages and abilities. The club provides fantastic facilities. The fundraising team are a good mix of players, ex players, supporters and helpers.”

What does he want to see Penrith RUFC achieve in the next season of rugby: “On the field: Maintain a consistent first team squad with younger players continuing to break through. I hope all the teams continue to play entertaining rugby.

Off the field: The fundraising team is looking to continue its work in raising club funds through a variety of social events that raise the clubs identity as the heart of the community. We support other local charities through the help of Penrith OCC. The fundraising team is inclusive and we are happy to accept help from anyone willing. Anyone interested please get in touch!

We are always grateful of sponsors and supporters and I would like to thank everyone who has contributed at any level.

I would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a healthy new year.”

As the fundraising team goes into its second year in 2020, we would like to take the opportunity to invite anyone interested to join us. We are a variety of ages, with different strengths and talents and each contribute in our own way, any help and support would be very much appreciated.

We also thank Neil for his efforts and hard work as Fundraising Chairman after a very successful 2019 and we’re looking forward to organising more social events for the club in 2020.
