Youth Section

PRUFC YOUTH (U7 – U18) SECTION
Penrith RUFC is a thriving club with many successful teams across the whole age spectrum from Under 7 to players who are in their fifties. The Mini and Junior and Academy sections have teams ranging from U7 to U18. We have several players representing the District, County and some training with Professional Schools of Rugby. Past players have gone on successfully to far higher levels of professional rugby. The team managers and coaches are all volunteers, fully trained, have CRB/DBS clearance, are highly motivated and committed to their teams and their players’ welfare.
Welfare Officer is Adrian Hill:-

In preparation for the forthcoming season, please read the information below, complete and return the attached required forms for your child’s or your application (the team managers will be notified which players are eligible to play at PRUFC after memberships are completed).

• If paying cheque or cash an individual PRUFC Youth Membership Application Form needs to be completed for every youth player with a fee of £140 Academy/Full Time Student, £108 Junior, £15 Girls + £5 per match, £84 Minis per player - U7s have nothing to pay. These can be paid by cheque or cash but the preferred method is via our Pitchero website. If paid via the website then enter the players address etc and they will be no need to complete the paper application form.
Subscriptions can also be be paid over 8 months via the website. If using Pitchero please register your child so that they can make full use of the website and see all photos, news etc.
Membership fees are very important to the successful running of the youth teams and are due 1st September. These need to be paid before 30th September, only then are player’s members of PRUFC. If you have a problem with paying your fees, rather than your child being turned away for non-payment and not being able to play the sport their love then please contact the relevant team manager and we will see what arrangements we can make.

Child Protection Sheet one for every player up to and including the U16 team.

• RFU form – only required for those players: transferring to play for Penrith from another club, new players, if any personal details have changed for data protection purposes (i.e. address, contact details, medical info, change of school) and all U12 team players (including 2 named passport size photos).

• New players are allowed up to a month to try rugby then must immediately complete all forms and pay the fee.

Important information;
• In the interest of child welfare new players must not be left unaccompanied by their parent/guardian until all the subs forms have been completed and fees have been paid.
• Every team has away fixtures and all parents/guardians are expected to take their turn in transporting their child and possibly some of their team mates, when no team transport is available. If you are not transporting, it is your responsibility (not the team managers or team coach), to arrange who will take your child and who will be responsible for them, please don’t drop your child at the gate without making sure their lift is organised and available on the day.
• If you are not at the game/training, please be contactable at all times and available to travel if requested e.g. if your child is injured.
• The team manager/coaches are responsible for the welfare of the whole team and must stay with the team so cannot be responsible for individuals.
• Teams are in ages as of the 1st September, i.e. a player who is 10 on the 1st Sept will play for the U11 team all season even if they are 11 on the 2nd Sept.

Without the help of all the volunteers and sponsors we would not be able to run as many teams as effectively as we do. The Youth Section is very successful and constantly growing, we are always interested to hear of anyone who would like to offer any sort of help, or with offers to sponsor kit. Contact you team manager if you can help in any way great or small. Thank you.

Penrith Rugby Union Football Club is an all-inclusive, sociable club so please feel welcome to call in for a breakfast roll, coffee or drink. Please don’t just drop your child and go, come and watch and support your child and their team enjoy playing their chosen sport and become part of the club. Social events to bring together parents, players, coaches, friends, family and anyone else, are advertised on the website and around the club.
